With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear matriarch, Eleanor Derby, at the age of 100 years, 7 months, 5 days.
Eleanor was born in Vernon and grew up at Shuswap Falls with many fun filled days on the family ranch. After marrying Stanley Derby, they raised their family in Coldstream where they were long-time residents.
Eleanor had a deep love of nature, spending her free time outdoors with her horses, fishing, snowmobiling, and gold panning. Eleanor's close presence and laughter will be deeply missed. She was an active and involved grandmother who made her grandchildren feel loved and cared for.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Elaine French (Laurie), Kathleen Funke, Jim Derby (Brenda), her much loved grandchildren, Cora-Lee Baker (Derek), Schelley McRae (James), Wendy Derby (Kevin), Sherry Hart (Jason), Emma and Mason Funke, Dustin and Dayton Lacroix as well as 8 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
